Well, I came up with the perfect excuse for not having to continue with the decorating of my new flat... a fleeting visit to the hospital for a spot of surgery...

To tell the truth, it's a really boring month for this diary. Had to cancel work trips to Boston, Caracas and San Salvador (surely earthquakes are more exciting than having organs removed), two weeks recovery and then 'Mutti' visiting from Germany.

I love her visits actually but I'm sorry folks... we only do relaxing stuff. Like trips to IKEA, lots of stops for cream tea in quaint little villages, and being the arty intellectual mum she is, she always tries to expand my cultural horizon by dragging me to at least one exhibition or gallery or similar. This time it's the Hannah Peschar Sculpture Garden in Ockley, Surrey. Loved it, if you like contemporary art in a beautifully landscaped outdoor environment, this is the place to see.

Oh, I nearly forgot... It was my birthday too this month. True to my passion for all things Blue I was born under the sign of the water bearer. Turned 38 which I don't mind telling, it's a great age actually... still none the wiser but I look older so people think I am wiser anyway!
