Work is quiet and all this time working alone from home is driving me crazy!
Upon learning that the Ross-on-Wye festival (where I usually go to see Van the Man) is cancelled this year we spontaneously book a trip to see him perform in my home town Cologne. It's a fleeting visit but as always my mother prepares a wonderful Sunday brunch and all the family comes. Even get to see my cousin Oliver who actually lives in London but somehow we never manage to catch up over here!
The concert took place in the open-air Tanzbrunnen down by the river Rhine. It was very good. Afterwards we strolled through the lively 'Altstadt', the old city part of Cologne which is always heaving with people in the summer and where you get the best "Koelsch" beer and German sausages.
