I am feeling a bit run down so when my sister Nina comes to visit just before Easter I take a week off. We have a relaxing and healthy time, she even gets me to go swimming at the Bath University's 50m swimming pool! We explore the countryside around Bath, have wholesome cream teas in quaint little villages and conclude the week with a trip to Southampton's City Art Gallery for an exhibition on Nina's sculpturor Brancusi - he is the subject of her PhD studies. No visit by my sister without some culture!

In fact, my little sister is turning into a highly intellectual and well respected academic; before her visit to Bath she was in Nottingham where she presented as the youngest and only non-English speaker at an arts conference. I feel very proud of her.

Nina also meets Tom before she returns to Germany; funnily enough he is a little nervous about meeting her as she is family. I assure him that it is much more important to impress my friends! And so he does as he meets more of them at a Sunday pub lunch in Windsor: Rachel, Liz and Dom and Leah who have just returned from a worldtrip on their motorbikes. Needless to say that there was lots of guy bike talk!
