Mum's 60th birthday on 2nd May. Whole family coming to London for the occasion: sister Nina, brother Peer & girlfriend 'little' Kerstin plus good friend Paulchen who fancied making it a 100th birthday by adding his 40 years! Agenda: Dinner party at home. Then a ride on the "London Eye", the huge ferris wheel that was built on the banks of the river Thames as a landmark for the Millennium. Quite spectacular, definitely worth it! And finally: "Les Miserables", all time great musical which did not disappoint.

One week later another funeral. This time my grandfather. Another trip to Cologne, another wake at the grand castle hotel outside of Cologne. The atmosphere is very different this time. We all feel comforted at the thought of our grandparents/parents being reunited again in heaven, or wherever... We sit on the terrace, in the sunshine, overlooking the beautiful grounds, feeling quite cheerful and enjoying the comforting warmth of a close knit family...

I have met a lovely man. Via the net, naturally :) We spend a wonderful and very romantic weekend in Carcassone in the south of France, a beautiful town hosting Europe's oldest and largest medieval castle.
