Three times bridesmaid, never the bride...!? Oh, I hope not! This year sees me doing the honours for Claudia and Bill. The three of us met 15 years ago, when Claudia and I lived in Vancouver, working as au-pairs, or "nannies". Bill, at the time, was going out with Claudia's schoolfriend Lis, who returned to Germany shortly after our arrival. So Bill took us under his wings - quite literally as he was/is a pilot. He is the one who once flew me over to Vancouver Island in a one engined Piper, and when we couldn't land due to low visibility he told me to "pick one of the islands" to land on instead!! I did, and we had a fab weekend on Texada Island!
It wasn't until 8 years later that Claudia got back in touch with Bill during one of her layovers in Vancouver (she, too, had become a flight attendant for Lufthansa). This time they fell in love. And two children later, after having lived on different continents for 3 years, they finally got married. I just love their story! It's sooo romantic! The wedding takes place in an old converted farmhouse near Lingen in northern Germany. A wonderful day!
The rest of the month is spent in continued mad frenzy, getting ready for the snogg.net launch on 7.7.2000.
