It's hot.

But I am not complaining, this is a proper summer and in weather like this there are few places better than the lush and green English countryside.

Rachel invites the girlies for a weekend at her parent's cottage in West Sussex. They are on holiday so we have the cozy place to ourselves. It's situated on a beautiful reservoir, surrounded by wonderful gardens with plenty of fruit trees and organic vegetable fields. Lots of gossip, wine and sleep!

I really enjoy being in Bath this summer and explore the stunning surrounding countryside with the help of my friend Mark who is a great source of information regarding local history and stories. Robert also visits one weekend, we are becoming good friends and have a very nice time.

And I catch up with a "long lost" relative of mine! Well, not really lost. We share the same last name and first communicated over the Internet four years ago. He is in London this month and we decide to meet up in Richmond. He's 38 and lives near Cologne just down the road from my friend Paulchen. We ask the obvious question: how are we related? Some research reveals that his great-grandfather and my grandfather (who passed away in May 2000) were cousins. One look at our noses says it all; it must be true!
