Tom is in the UK and we spend the weekends together exploring Hythe in Kent, where his job will be based, and he comes to Bath, too. Our cultural roots are very different, yet we discover lots of similarities in our childhood backgrounds, attitudes and experiences. He is an interesting and interested man and the more I get to know him the more I like him. At the end of November he returns to the States and I won't see him until January, it will be six long weeks!
In an effort to challenge my brain a bit more and because I am interested in the subject I enrol for an introductory Psychology evening course at Bath University. The tutor is a very young and cute PhD student whilst most of his class consists of middle aged women like myself; needless to say, he enjoys excellent attendancy rates! Mind you, he is a good teacher too, some of the stuff we cover is rather abstract but he brings it across very well. It seems to be the season for short longhaul trips: My friend Liz organises incentive ("fam") trips and has a space left on a weekend in Cancun, Mexico. It's a long way to go for two days but it is all paid for and it is worth it! We stay at the beautiful Ritz Carlton and enjoy speedboat trips, snorkling, a jungle tour, massages, great weather, fantastic food and fun company. All in all a super trip.
